On Exhibit: Art in Odd Places

The Fence As Lace #8 is on exhibit at Art in Odd Places at Endicott College in Beverly, MA through April 30, 2012.

This piece is mixed media on stiffened fabric. It measures 48" x 100" before being wrapped around a tree with three trunks. The fabric is monoprinted with the texture of a construction fence, as well as hand stamped with rubber erasers. Then I stiffened it and cut holes in it to give it lace-like qualities.

As described on their website, "Art in Odd Places aims to stretch the boundaries of communication in the public realm by presenting artworks in all disciplines outside the confines of traditional public space regulations. AiOP reminds us that public spaces function as the epicenter for diverse social interactions and the unfettered exchange of ideas." Read more about it.

There are more pictures of this installation at AiOP on my website. This piece can also be exhibited wrapped around a tree with the ends draping down to the ground.
